Car Insurance BMW (Car Insurance). Should I contact other dealerships to get approved for a car lease?

Should I contact other dealerships to get approved for a car lease? around a month and half ago I went to my local vw hamilton dealership and I worked out a deal to lease the new 2011 vw jetta at $285 a month (comfortline with fog lights/heated seats/ and connectivity package) with $2700 Down (includes my first month and security deposit and the rest around $2000 as a down payment), I also added a cosigner (my older brother). Anyways after a month and half after applying the moron who is in charge of getting me approved calls and says I need a stronger co-signer or I need $7000 down. First off I hate this dealership, Hamilton, ONT vw treats me like crap, I call every single day and no one ever calls me back. I have to go in to the dealership to speak to dominic who is getting me approved, he tells me that he will call me for sure on monday but on wednesday I have to call and he still wont call me back, then I have to go in and speak person to person. im soo fed up with these guys. Anyways i have a good credit score and I have a $250,000 mortgage under my name and I have never missed any payments of any kind so Im good on that front. I got approved for my mortgage from the bank just 7 months ago. I don t understand why I cant get approved for a $25,000 car. DO you guys think im better off going to other vw dealerships and telling them the whole story and see what they can do for me or are all vw dealerships going to give me the same answer? or Are pretty much all other car dealers going to say no to me?

Financed cars is more expensive to insurance cause it requires full coverage. You can compare how much you would pay for full coverage of this car using this tool - carquotes.fateback.com yeah man go to another dealership. its just the manager and how he is operating that particular dealership I would definitely shop around. Nobody should accept that type of treatment from a car dealer. Because your credit is not good enough.

BMW . I just tried to Jump-Start my car but it still won't start... Help please?

I just tried to Jump-Start my car but it still won't start... Help please? I have a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse which died about 2 days ago. Last week it was starting up but 2 days ago I tried to start it and the engine cranks a little bit, then dies down. I tried to Jump-start it today with my 07 Nissan Altima and I turned on the Altima reved it a bit and let it charge for a few minutes but the Eclipse still wont start up. The battery on the Eclipse is very old, so im praying that that's the cause and not something worst like the alternator because I seriously have no more money to spend on that car. Do you think that since the battery is pretty old (from 2006) that could be the cause? The battery is not rusted or anything, and the electronics do work (the radio, headlights, A/C, etc.) Here's a clip of me trying to start it (before trying to jump starting it): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwUfJNl5Wko Help, thanks! car insurance.

BMW . Which car is more fuel-efficient of the two?

Which car is more fuel-efficient of the two? I have access to two cars that I can drive around. Gas is getting really, really expensive now (not like what it used to be, I'm starting to feel the pinch in my pocket from the fuel costs since I have to drive at least 2 hours a day 5 days a week to go to and from work). The one car is a 1997 Toyota Camry with a V6 engine in it, and the other is a 2006 Ford Mustang with just the V6 in it. Which is more fuel-efficient of the two cars? The newer car, or the foreign car? Lately, I've been driving the Camry a lot. Thanks! car insurance.

BMW . Troubleshooting Help on 97 Honda Civic Lx Transmission

When your 1997 Honda Civic has trouble shifting or staying in gear, you may think you're in for some costly repairs. The gears inside of a transmission are difficult to deal with and time consuming to reach. There are, however, a variety of smaller and less costly problems that can appear to be a faulty transmission. Troubleshoot all the components of the transmission in your 1997 Honda Civic before taking it to a mechanic for a costly repair.
Difficulty:Moderate
Instructions Things You'll Need
Shop rag
Socket wrench set

Step by Step :
1
Prop open the hood and check the level of transmission fluid in the transmission. Pull the dipstick with the red handle out of the engine block, wipe the stick clean of fluid with a shop rag, insert it back into the engine fully and pull it back out to read the level of fluid on the scored marks of the stick. The transmission uses the fluid for lubrication and hydraulic power; fill the transmission with fluid if it is low.
2
Run a diagnostic on the vehicle's electronic control module, or ECM. The ECM is a flat-panel computer inside the engine block just in front of the battery that electronically controls the operation of the engine and transmission. A faulty ECM can make your vehicle appear to have a transmission problem. Remove the ECM with a 10 mm socket and take the computer to a professional for a diagnostic.
3
Ensure that the ECM is getting the proper information from the transmission's electronic speed sensor. The speed sensor is a small electronic plug that can be removed with a 10 mm socket. It sits on top of the transaxle and is responsible for feeding the ECM electronic information about the operation of the transmission. A faulty speed sensor will relay faulty information which will lead to poor transmission performance.
4
Use your nose to check for slipping gears. If the gears inside the transmission are failing or wearing down, then the transmission should give off a burning smell after the gears slip out during operation of the vehicle. This creates an enormous amount of heat, which causes the smell.

BMW . My Honda Civic VTEC Automatic Won't Go Past 25

Your automatic VTEC Honda Civic won't travel over 25 miles-per-hour and you are left wondering why. VTEC is a Honda innovation that stands for variable valve timing and electronic lift control, and has nothing to do with the problem at hand. Most Civic owners will blame the transmission, call a mechanic and pay thousands for their transmission to be overhauled or replaced. Try troubleshooting less obvious and more cost effective problems before blaming a wrecked transmission.
Difficulty:Moderate
Instructions

Step by Step :
1
Check the automatic shifter to see if it is in drive. If the shifter is in a low gear position, below the letter D on the shifter, the vehicle will have a more difficult time getting to speed.
2
Check the transmission fluid level by using the red-capped dip stick in the engine compartment. Fill the transmission with automatic transmission fluid if it's needed. Without fluid, the transmission will limit the vehicle's ability to shift into higher gears.
3
Open the engine compartment and look on the firewall behind the engine block of the driver's side. The fuel filter will be a black metal cylinder with copper washers just under the master brake cylinder. Replace a clogged fuel filter that is limiting the vehicle's performance.
4
Check the ECM to see if the vehicle is in "Limp mode." The ECM is the computer brain of the Civic and is next to the battery in the engine compartment. The ECM may have malfunctioned and put the vehicle into this emergency operation mode; it does not allow the vehicle to use multiple gears, so the driver may "Limp" it to service. You can remove the ECM with a 10-millimeter socket wrench, but it must go to a professional for diagnostics.
5
Replace the speed sensor on top of the transmission. The speed sensor is a small black plastic plug on top of the transmission that releases with the help of a 10-millimeter socket wrench. The sensor is a small electronic component that relays information from the transmission to the ECM.
6
Smell the engine after driving it for approximately five minutes. If the engine smells like it is burning, the gears may be slipping and a transmission overhaul is in order. The gears produce a lot of heat when they slip, and give off a burning smell.

High gear transmission. Figure 9-5 shows a large gear placed next to a small gear so that their teeth mesh. If the large gear has 30 teeth and the small gear has 10, the large gear turns once to every three turns of the small gear. In other words, the large gear turns only a third of the way around for every complete revolution of the small gear. The gears in your transmission work on this principle, which is called a 3:1 gear ratio. As you can see back in Figures 9-1 and 9-4, the turning drive train brings a gear into contact with other gears of different sizes. That's why the transmission input shaft that runs between the engine and the transmission turns at the same rate of speed as the engine, but the Chapter 9: Take the Drive Train: Understanding Transmissions... 1 7C transmission output shaft that leaves the transmission and carries the power via the driveshaft and differential to the rear wheels turns at a different rate, depending on which gears in the transmission are engaged. (If you're feeling mind-boggled, reread Steps 5 through 10 in "How the power flows through the drive train" earlier in this chapter.) Figure 9-5: 3:1 gear ratio: A gear with 10 teeth will have rotated completely when a 30-tooth gear has traveled only a third of the way 418 Car Insurance land rover discovery 1997 xdsportutility4d 105651

around. Now take a closer look at what goes on when you shift into each gear. In Low gear, the gears in the transmission make the driveshaft (and therefore the wheels) turn more slowly than the engine. In fact, the driveshaft may turn only once for every, four engine revolutions. All the power of the swiftly running engine is channeled into those few turns. The wheels turn more slowly, but they have more power to put into each turn, so your car can start, climb a hill, or pull a trailer. Not only does the engine run faster, but you also have the mechanical advantage of the big gear providing more leverage by turning slowly but with more force. In Second gear, the engine turns more slowly than it did in Low, putting out less power but more speed because the wheels can turn more quickly. In this gear, the driveshaft may turn once for every two engine revolutions, or twice as fast as in Low gear. In High gear, the gear ratio can drop to around 1:1, which means that the engine and the driveshaft turn at relatively the same rate of speed. The wheels can go very fast; yet the engine doesn't put out additional power to produce that speed. Because you've overcome inertia by the time you shift into high gear and generally have nothing more to contend with than wind

resistance and the surface of the highway, you don't need much power to keep moving at a good clip after you get there. 176 Part II: What Makes It Go? In Fifth gear, the ratio is usually an overdrive of around 0.75:1, which means that the engine can turn more slowly than the output shaft's speed. You want to be at that ratio on the highway for good fuel economy. However, you do need to downshift if you want to pass someone, because you don't have much engine power with this ratio. Automatic Transmissions Did you know that today's automatic transmissions are computer-controlled hydraulic systems? Previous automatic transmissions were mechanically controlled. This section covers the basic features of both. An automatic transmission works on the same basis as a manual transmis sion does, with a gear selector on the steering column or floor to allow you to tell the car to park, idle, go in reverse, go forward at varying speeds, or

move into lower gears in certain circumstances. But instead of a manual clutch, an automatic transmission uses a torque converter and hydraulic pressure to change gears automatically. The torque converter replaces the standard transmission's clutch. The torque converter is a fluid coupling that transfers power from the engine to the transmission input shaft. It allows for smooth transfer of power and at highway speeds can be locked up to reduce slippage and improve fuel economy. Shifting in an automatic transmission is controlled by either a hydraulic system or an electronic system. Hydraulically controlled transmissions con sist of an intricate network of valves and other components along with hydraulic pressure to control the operation of planetary gearsets (see Figure 9-6). These gearsets can be fashioned to generate three, four, or five forward speeds.

BMW . How do you adjust transmission brake bands on 95 cabrio?

*
A very thin oil called transmission fluid fills the transmission system and generates hydraulic pressure. As the engine speed changes, the pump that pumps the transmission fluid to develop hydraulic pressure also changes speed. The transmission fluid responds to the changes in pressure by flowing through the transmission at different rates. When the car is moving slowly, the pressure is low, and only the low gears respond. In Drive, as the car's speed increases, so does the pressure, and higher gears are brought into play. The hydraulic pressure drives the transmission gears by means of friction bands and plates. These bands and plates do the same thing that the clutch on a manual transmission does — they pull various gears into and out of action. When mechanics tell you that your bands need adjusting, these are the bands they're talking about. They can usually make this adjustment without taking the transmission apart.
